The town of Lasalle is located, just south of Windsor, north of Amherstburg and along Detroit River. Like Windsor, LaSalle, is the oldest French settlement area in Southwestern Ontario and the oldest continually inhabited European settlement in Canada west of the Quebec border. The town of Lasalle was named for the explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. The town of Lsalle includes Fighting Island, in the Detroit River at its west, which is an island that is privately owned by the world's largest chemical company, BASF.
One of LaSalle's biggest annual events is the annual Strawberry Festival, which is the place to be on the first weekend in June.
LaSalle also has its own small but growing bicycle trail network, named the "LaSalle Trail", which links up to Windsor, Ontario's "Windsor Trail" network, allowing people to ride from Sandwich Secondary School all the way to Windsor's Riverfront Trail. The town has also shown interest and intentions to connect LaSalle (and indirectly, Windsor) to the Chrysler Canada Greenway by looking to construct a link to the Trans-Canada Trail near Oldcastle, Ontario.
Lasalle Ontario offers close proximity to the City of Windsor while having protected woodlands with some unique species of wildlife and lovely bike trails. New homes in Lasalle have been going up as it is a desired location for luxury homes in the Windsor Essex area. Lasalle homes for Sale offers a variety of homes from bungalows to two storey homes and ranches and raised ranches. Whether you decide to live in Tuscany Oaks or Normandy or Ellis Street and be close to all the amentities that Lasalle has to offer you can do so with confidence in this lovely community.
